ILRC Announces Summer Youth Programs

ILRC is once again partnering with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide summer youth programs targeted to preparing youth with disabilities for continuing education and entering the workforce.  This year we are offering three individual programs.  Choose one or all three!  All programs are open to youth with disabilities ages 16—21 who are enrolled in school for the Fall.  (If you have questions regarding the eligibility of a student, please contact us at 573-556-0400 or Melinda@ilrcjcmo.org.)

 

Social Skills for Success

WHAT: A workshop designed to assist students with disabilities to be successful in the workplace.  Topics include:  Listening/Conversing, Teamwork, Goal Setting and Making Good Choices

WHEN: June 4, 2016, 10:00 am—3:00 pm

WHERE: ILRC, 1760 Southridge, Jefferson City

Participants need to bring a sack lunch!

 

Driver’s Permit Preparation Classes

WHAT: Series of workshops designed to prepare students to take and pass the Missouri Driver’s Permit Test.

WHEN: Tuesdays beginning June 7 and ending July 26, 4:30 pm—6:00 pm

WHERE: ILRC, 1760 Southridge, Jefferson City

Workshops will build upon topics covered in previous classes.  It is strongly suggested students attend all eight (8) workshops.  ILRC staff will be available for additional instruction if requested.

 

Basic Cooking Skills

WHAT: Basic cooking classes designed to familiarize participants with kitchen and food handling safety.  Participants will prepare and enjoy a full meal during the class.

WHEN: June 16, 2016, 4:30 pm—6:30 pm

July 14, 2016, 4:30 pm—6:30 pm

WHERE: ILRC, 1760 Southridge, Jefferson City
