The Sarah Borgmeyer Scholarship for Wonderland Camp

ILRC Announces Camp Scholarship Opportunity

October 2016, Jefferson City, MO

Independent Living Resource Center, Inc. (ILRC) is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for The Sarah Borgmeyer Scholarship for Wonderland Camp.  Sarah passed away in December, 2014 and her parents, Donna and Albert Borgmeyer, knew they wanted to honor her memory in some way.  Sarah was a very beautiful and caring young lady.  She could light up a room with her smile and everyone that knew her loved her.  One of Sarah’s favorite things was attending Wonderland Camp and it is her family’s hope that this scholarship will give others the opportunity to attend camp as well.

The Borgmeyer Family, ILRC and Wonderland Camp have worked together to create the Sarah Borgmeyer Scholarship.  Applicants must be between age 12 and 22 and be a resident of Callaway, Camden, Cole, Miller, Morgan, Moniteau or Osage County.  $250 scholarships will be awarded for those wishing to attend a weekend or parent weekend camp opportunity.  For additional guidelines and application, contact ILRC at 573-556-0400 or visit www.ilrcjcmo.org.

ILRC is a non-residential, consumer-controlled, not-for-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with disabilities in Southern Callaway, Camden, Cole, Miller, Morgan, Moniteau, and Osage counties.  ILRC works to promote greater independence and empowerment for persons with disabilities through advocacy and resources.

ILRC provides core services of Peer Support, Advocacy, Information and Referral, Independent Living Skills Training and Transition free of charge to the consumer.  Additional services and programs include Consumer Directed Services, Children & Youth Services including MPACT Certified Parent Mentors and Youth Group, Nursing Home Transition, TAP-T (Telecommunications Access Program), and the ILRC Care Closet.
