Women’s Group for Ladies with Disabilities

Ladies with disabilities from across the ILRC service area will gather for a time of networking on Monday, August 26th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) in Jefferson City, MO.  ILRC is located at 1760 Southridge Dr., Jefferson City, MO.

The”Women’s Group” is created to support and celebrate independent ladies with disabilities. The group is organized to provide networking opportunities with time to mingle and meet women you can relate to.

Studies show that women emphasize relationship building and participation in peer groups is one method utilized as women seek to build relationships and exchange ideas with like-minded women.

The women at this initial meeting will discuss activities for the women’s group and check out a movie with snacks provided.  Please RSVP to ILRC at 573-556-0400 or Rose@ilrcjcmo.org by August 22, 2013.  There will be no cost for this event.

Independent Living Resource Center, Inc. (ILRC) is a non-residential, consumer-controlled, not-for-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with disabilities in Southern Callaway, Camden, Cole, Miller, Morgan, Moniteau, and Osage counties.  ILRC works to promote greater independence and empowerment for persons with disabilities through advocacy and resources.

ILRC provides core services of Peer Support, Advocacy, Information and Referral, and Independent Living Skills Training free of charge to the consumer.  Additional services and programs include Accessibility Surveys, Consumer Directed Services, Children & Youth Services including MPACT Certified Parent Mentors and Youth Group, De-institutionalization, Equipment Loan, Home Modifications / Ramps, TAP-T (Telecommunications Access Program), and the ILRC Care Closet.
